Camp Oochigeas, an Ontario camp for kids with cancer, holds a fundraiser gala every two years. The year in question, the camp sought to raise funds to renovate its barn, an essential building for campers’ recreation. A theme for the gala and all the collateral were our key deliverables.

After multiple concepts were pitched, my concept of a children’s book won the day, and Barny the Lovable Barn was born!

I came up with the concept and wrote the web copy. The writing and illustration of the children’s book that would be the event invitation was contracted out to a children’s book author and illustrator.

The event raised $765,312, surpassing the goal by 53%, outshining the previous event by 91%

ELEVEN extra tables were added in an attempt to keep up with demand for the event, which was a complete sell-out

Invitees unable to attend were given the option to donate in lieu of attendance. This option raised $55,598
